Before applying, prospective applicants should:
We welcome conversations with organizations interested in advancing work aligned with our mission. If your organization has an idea or initiative that may be a good fit, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with a Network Officer.
Following the consultation, organizations whose proposed work aligns with our funding priorities may be invited to submit a grant application.

If your work is aligned, review the eligibility requirements to ensure your organization meets the criteria.
If your organization has an idea or initiative that may be a good fit, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with a Network Officer.
New Applicant:
Your first step is to create an account in Temelio, complete the eligibility quiz, and submit an inquiry form. If your organization is eligible, a Network Officer will review your submission and reach out to discuss next steps and potential funding opportunities.
Established Grantee:
Contact your Network Officer to arrange a consultation and discuss funding pathways that may be a fit for your new project.
The Community Grants Program provides flexible support to organizations working to strengthen New Hanover County and create meaningful change across The Endowment’s four pillars: Social & Health Equity, Education, Community Safety, Community Development.
2026 Community Grants Program – Fall Cycle

Building on the success of its 2025 pilot, The Endowment launched an enhanced Arts and Culture Grants Program in 2026 to directly advance its strategic priorities: social and health equity, education, community safety, and community development. By supporting a wide range of arts and cultural initiatives, the program fueled economic growth, enriched lives, and fostered opportunities for youth and residents of all ages to thrive.
The Endowment established a $2 million Emergency Recovery Grant Reserve to deliver fast, targeted support when disaster occurs. This program ensures dedicated funding is available to provide swift, flexible assistance for New Hanover County residents in the wake of major disruptions or crises.
