WILMINGTON, N.C. The Endowment’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Sophie Dagenais as President and Chief Executive Officer. Dagenais has served as Interim President and CEO, providing continuity of leadership and supporting the organization’s mission and strategic priorities.
“I am delighted to announce the appointment of Sophie Dagenais as The Endowment’s new President and CEO. The Board’s decision reflects our shared commitment to strong leadership and our confidence and excitement about The Endowment’s future,” said Shannon Winslow, Board Chair of The Endowment. “Sophie stepped forward at a pivotal moment and led with focus, discipline, and purpose. Under her leadership, we’ve strengthened our investment strategy, fostered a collaborative team culture, and sharpened our ability to deliver meaningful results for the community. The Endowment is well-positioned to advance our mission, and we are excited to build on our momentum.”
Dagenais has guided The Endowment through a period of continued progress, prioritizing data-driven analysis, strategic partnerships, and disciplined investments aligned across each of the organization’s strategic pillars. Her leadership has reinforced The Endowment’s approach to identifying opportunities that move the needle on the most pressing needs in New Hanover County.
