Who We Fund

The Endowment supports nonprofits, governmental, and community organizations that strengthen New Hanover County. We seek partners committed to advancing our four pillars: Social & Health Equity, Education, Community Safety, Community Development

Eligible applicants include:

  • Tax-exempt organizations, such as:
    • Nonprofits
    • Public Charities
    • Universities and Higher Education Institutions
    • Public Agencies, including State, County, and Local Government Departments

Eligible organizations must exclusively serve or benefit residents of New Hanover County.

 

 

Fiscal Sponsorship Requirements:

  • The fiscal sponsor must maintain full discretion and control over any awarded grant funds and have the organizational capacity to manage and accept the risks of fiscal sponsorship.
  • The project must align with the fiscal sponsor’s charitable mission.
  • The fiscal sponsor’s board must approve the project as furthering its charitable mission before submitting a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) to the Endowment.
