Support for Story Leads NHC, a series of film screenings and workshops for middle and high school students in New Hanover County that introduce them to careers in film and that engage them in dialogue around important issues affecting their lives.

And

Story Leads NHC will use the power of film to convene, inform, and increase community engagement among youth in New Hanover County. To achieve this goal Working Films will coordinate a robust series of events held in collaboration with GLOW Academy in Fall 2025 that bring young people together to, be inspired, discuss, and get involved in efforts for positive change in our area and that connect them with experienced professionals working in film related careers.

Funds to initiate this process by securing a consultant in the second half of 2025. We are currently reviewing consultants and have begun internal planning, but external expertise is essential to facilitating structured discussions, aligning priorities, and ensuring a thoughtful, actionable plan. Endowment support will cover the first portion of the consultant’s fees, support pre-retreat planning activities (SWOT analysis, stakeholder interviews, agenda development), and organizing the strategic planning retreat. We have identified another potential funder to support the completion of the process in 2026, but endowment funds will be critical to launching this work in 2025. Your support will enable us to build a strategic roadmap that ensures Working Films’ continued impact—strengthening our role as a catalyst for social change through film in New Hanover County.
