2025 – The Capacity Grant will help with funding for specific program initiatives:
– To maintain and improve the education level of the staff
– To implement new program management software for tracking student attendance, classroom performance, and parent tuition payments
– To implement room dividers which will allow the students to be separated by age groups which in turn will allow the students to focus more on their area by reducing distractions from other classroom areas
– To procure the services of professional grant writers to help secure future grant funding for the sustainability of the program in this difficult economic environment

2025-The Community Grant will help with funding our summer school field trips, in particular, for those students whose family may not be able to afford the cost of the field trip. As noted in our previous grant submittal, almost half of our families were not able to make their tuition payments so their children would be left off the field trips which are a crucial part of our summer program. We would prefer not to see any student left out.

2025-The Union Missionary Baptist Church (UMBC) After School program requests endowment grant funding for 2025-2027 to provide financial support for a percentage of the following operating expenses:
– Salaries for the staff – 48%
– Food and transportation costs – 45%
– Overhead costs such as utilities, building services, insurance, and office supplies – 42%

2023- This grant supports UMBC’s After-School Program which is a Monday through Friday program that provides transportation from several area schools and is open until 10 p.m. allowing working families to maintain employment schedules. Funds will go toward the purchase of additional vans to transport students, playground equipment, computer equipment, staff, and additional training and professional development for educators.
