The Bellamy Mansion Museum is seeking to upgrade our internal phone system since the system currently in place is over twenty years old. The current system does not include technical support and costs the museum money each time any service or repair is needed. Additionally, the physical phones are no longer manufactured, so we have been buying refurbished handsets on Ebay for the last few years. Storms and lightning have literally fried some of the current phone lines, and the current company was never able to repair them properly, so we have several “dead” lines that visitors and volunteers can still reach and leave voicemails on, so we know we are missing calls from visitors, stakeholders, other community partners, and our volunteers.
Switching from Accutel (and Spectrum) to BlinkVoice will bring our hardware into the 21st century and provide us with actual customer support. The new system will include 4 new phones, and a 60 month contract. We are seeking funds to help pay for the first year of the new phones and service.
Upgrading our current phone system is essential to enhancing our ability to fulfill our mission and better serve our community. A more advanced, reliable phone system will improve communication both internally and externally, ensuring museum staff can respond to inquiries promptly and efficiently. By streamlining call management and providing more robust features, such as call forwarding, voicemail-to-email, text blasting, and analytics, we can ensure that our services are accessible to those who need them most. This upgrade will not only help reduce missed calls and response times but also foster a more professional and seamless experience for visitors and stakeholders, ultimately advancing our mission to provide high-quality, responsive support and services. With this upgrade, we will be better equipped to expand our outreach, strengthen relationships, and achieve the positive impact we strive for.
This phone upgrade will help us achieve our mission allowing us a new way to update visitors (customizable call attendant allows us to let callers know about upcoming events) and a new way to keep our volunteers informed (text blast feature included) which helps the museum.
