The New Hanover Community Endowment (The Endowment) is committed to transparency and accountability by providing clear financial information, maintaining strict oversight of its operations, and publicly sharing tax returns and key financial results to demonstrate investment performance and payout policies, ensuring responsible stewardship and lasting community impact.

Global Connections

Global Connections is a refugee resettlement support center located in Wilmington, North Carolina that enriches the lives of refugees resettling from all over the world. Global Connections provides case management support, cultural orientation, educational and enrichment services for local refugees. Support our volunteer or donor programs to become a ‘global connector’ and help us make real social change, locally and globally.

About Us

The Endowment’s mission is to address the root challenges in community safety, community development, social and health equity, and education and to develop impactful solutions for every person in New Hanover County. The Endowment was established from the sale of the county-owned New Hanover Regional Medical Center to Novant Health in 2020. The initial fund was nearly $1.3 billion. Grants will be awarded each year in perpetuity. www.theendowment.org
