The New Hanover Community Endowment (The Endowment) is committed to transparency and accountability by providing clear financial information, maintaining strict oversight of its operations, and publicly sharing tax returns and key financial results to demonstrate investment performance and payout policies, ensuring responsible stewardship and lasting community impact.

Eden Village

We don’t value people by what they have or how they look. We choose to see them as God does, his children and our brothers and sisters. Join us in building permanent housing for our homeless friends.
Eden Village is a community model that builds tiny home communities for the chronically homeless and disabled. Eden Village is an entity of The Gathering Tree, Inc. a non-profit 501(c)(3).

About Us

The Endowment’s mission is to address the root challenges in community safety, community development, social and health equity, and education and to develop impactful solutions for every person in New Hanover County. The Endowment was established from the sale of the county-owned New Hanover Regional Medical Center to Novant Health in 2020. The initial fund was nearly $1.3 billion. Grants will be awarded each year in perpetuity. www.theendowment.org
