Shannon Winslow and Chris Boney to Lead Endowment Board of Directors
WILMINGTON, N.C. Marking an important leadership transition, the New Hanover Community Endowment (the Endowment) is proud to announce the appointment of Shannon Winslow as incoming chair and Chris Boney as incoming vice chair of the board of directors. Dr. Khadijia Tribié Reid has also been appointed to a new three-year term beginning in January. The group brings a proven track record as current Endowment board members and will lead the organization into its next chapter of meaningful community investments.
Winslow served on the Endowment board since 2022 and is an inaugural member. She previously served as vice chair, alongside outgoing Chair Bill Cameron. Winslow led the search committee that hired Dan Winslow as CEO and president in fall 2024 (the two are not related). She is a director of strategic accounts at WebMD health services and has more than 15 years of experience in healthcare.
“The Endowment has made great strides toward transformational change in New Hanover County under Bill Cameron’s leadership, and I’m eager to build on that momentum, alongside Chris Boney, the full board, our new CEO, the Endowment’s dedicated staff, and Community Advisory Council (CAC),” said Winslow. “I’m grateful for this opportunity to help lead the Endowment into its next chapter as board chair.”
Winslow will assume her role on Jan. 1, 2025, succeeding Cameron, who served as board chair since January 2023 and has been a board member since 2022. Cameron will remain an active board member in 2025.
“It has been a privilege to serve as the Endowment’s board chair this past year,” said Cameron. “I have no doubt that under Shannon and Chris’ leadership, the Endowment will continue to grow, innovate, and make a lasting impact, and I look forward to supporting her as a board member.”
Under Cameron’s board leadership, the Endowment committed more than $101 million to the community.
Boney will assume the vice chair role on Jan. 1, 2025, succeeding Winslow. He previously served as the chair of the Endowment’s grants committee and as a board member since 2023. Boney is a chief relationships officer for LS3P, an architecture, interiors, and planning firm, where he oversees business development, community engagement, and leadership at the firm’s eight
southeastern architecture offices.
“There is so much opportunity ahead for the Endowment, and I’m honored to collaborate with the board chair to lead with a fresh perspective,” said Boney. “Together, we can continue our forward trajectory, strengthen our community connections, and drive meaningful impact in our community.”
Tribié Reid was reappointed by the full Board to a new three year term and will continue to serve as a board member in January 2025. She is the Pediatric Medical Director of MedNorth Community Health Center and a public health advocate.
“I have always considered my role on the board to be contiguous with every other thing I do in and outside of this community,” said Tribié Reid. “My aim is the same, to craft communities that build children who thrive. NHCE board participation allows me to influence the ecology of our community to optimize health outcomes for families.”
The Endowment’s board comprises passionate volunteers with demonstrated leadership within the community and strong governance experience that meets the high standard and conduct of the public-serving board.
