Timothy Ryan Jarman is an accomplished educator and nonprofit leader dedicated to creating transformative learning experiences for youth. Currently serving as Executive Director of the Schreiber Foundation in Wilmington, North Carolina, Timothy leads the organization’s mission to remove educational barriers and create opportunities for students to become empowered, self-actualized adults. He began his tenure with the Foundation during the pandemic, stepping in as Educational Director to directly support students facing challenges with remote learning. Since then, he has expanded the Foundation’s impact through strategic partnerships, staff development, and community engagement.
Prior to this role, Timothy spent a decade teaching American Literature and AP English Language at Eugene Ashley High School, where he was widely recognized for excellence in instruction and leadership. His accolades include being named New Hanover County’s 2019 Teacher of the Year. In addition to classroom teaching, he served as English Department Co-Chair, Beginning Teacher Mentor, and co-administrator of the school’s FOCUS freshman transition program.
A Harvard Graduate School of Education alum, Timothy holds an Ed.M. in Teaching and Curriculum and a B.A. in English and Comparative Literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has contributed to curriculum development at the district level, participated in national education conferences, and continues to advocate for inclusive, culturally responsive pedagogy.
Outside of education, Timothy is a passionate skateboarder, arts enthusiast, and lifelong learner, with interests ranging from writing and theater to language acquisition and youth empowerment.
