Dr. Khadijia Tribié Reid is a pediatrician, public health advocate, and mother dedicated to improving children’s health and development. She serves as Pediatric Medical Director at MedNorth Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center in Wilmington, NC, and is the Past Chair (2021-2023) of Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s Department of Pediatrics.

Deeply passionate about Early Childhood Education, Dr. Tribié Reid is North Carolina’s State Medical Director for Reach Out and Read, a program that promotes early literacy by providing free books to children from birth to age five during medical visits. She also serves as a governor-appointed board member of the North Carolina Partnership for Children, which supports statewide early childhood education initiatives.

As a founding board member of the New Hanover Community Endowment, Dr. Tribié Reid works to create systems that support children’s growth and development.

Nationally, she contributes to the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Expert Leadership on Trauma-Informed Care, providing practical strategies to mitigate the health impacts of childhood trauma. She was the lead author of the 2024 PediaLink module on trauma-informed care and authored a chapter on Adverse Childhood Experiences in the Health Equity, African Americans, and Public Health publication.

Dr. Tribié Reid earned her medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine, completed her pediatric residency at Tulane University, earned a Master of Public Health from UNC’s Gillings School of Public Health, and received her undergraduate degree from Duke University. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, swimming, writing, and spending Friday nights with her husband and two daughters.
