Joel Beeson, CPA, MPH is an accomplished financial and operations executive with extensive expertise in investment management, financial strategy, and accounting operations, primarily within nonprofit, philanthropic, and healthcare settings. As the Chief Financial Officer of The Endowment, Joel oversees all financial functions for a $1.6 billion foundation. He collaborates with the investment consultant to manage a diverse portfolio, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and aligns financial strategies with the organization’s mission.
Previously, Joel served as the Director of Administration at the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, where he led financial, HR, and facilities management for one of North Carolina’s largest foundations. He also held consulting roles at Deloitte and the Hospital Corporation of America, driving ERP system implementations. Joel’s leadership has consistently resulted in high-performing teams, effective strategic planning, and robust financial stewardship across his roles.
Joel earned his Master of Public Health Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from North Carolina State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and an active member of NCACPA and AICPA.
Outside of his professional achievements, Joel enjoys family life. He and his wife, Melanie, are proud parents of three grown children, all married, and grandparents to an 18-month-old grandson. Their household also includes their beloved Shih Tzu, Jax.
