As Chief Financial Officer at The Endowment, Joel is a forward-thinking financial strategist who oversees all budgeting, planning, accounting, and compliance functions for the foundation. Serving as a key advisor to the CEO and board, he ensures The Endowment’s financial health and long-term sustainability. Joel partners closely with investment consultants to manage a diverse portfolio and align fiscal strategy with The Endowment’s mission and values.
Joel brings more than three decades of experience in finance, administration, and philanthropy to his role. Before joining The Endowment, he served as Director of Administration at the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, where he led finance, human resources, and operations for one of North Carolina’s largest foundations. His earlier career included consulting with Deloitte and the Hospital Corporation of America, where he implemented enterprise resource planning systems and strengthened organizational efficiency.

Joel holds a
Master’s degree in Public Health Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a
Bachelor’s degree in accounting from North Carolina State University. His blend of financial expertise and commitment to mission-driven work makes him a trusted steward of The Endowment’s resources and a key leader in its ongoing success.
