Dr. Bart Williams is a lifelong North Carolinian who has lived and worked in New Hanover County for over 27 years. He is a distinguished graduate of the Virginia Military Institute and the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. After completing his residency in Family Medicine at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Dr. Williams served in the United States Army for 10 years, achieving the rank of Major.
Williams later moved to Wilmington where he cofounded Wrightsville Family Practice. He continues to practice full time as a family physician and is known for his hard work and commitment to practical, community-focused care. He values the long-term relationships he has built with his patients.
Dr. Williams has also been actively involved in the community throughout his time in the area. He has participated in both local and international medical mission trips, served on the board of Cape Fear Museum, chaired the board of Coastal Physician Alliance, volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America, and served as an elder on session at St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church. Currently, he is an active member at Hope Community Church.
He and his wife, Sandra McKenzie Williams, have been married 35 years. They have three children and two grandchildren who inspire his ongoing dedication to creating a healthy and vibrant community for future generations.
