Mireya Lupercio, MSW, LCSW, is a bilingual licensed clinical social worker and dynamic community leader with over a decade of experience in culturally responsive mental health care, nonprofit strategy, and cross-sector advocacy. Her work spans therapeutic practice, organizational leadership, and community-based program development, each rooted in equity and access for underserved populations.
Mireya currently serves as a staff psychotherapist at the Community Counseling Center, providing trauma-informed, inclusive care to diverse individuals and families, while also leading initiatives that integrate mental health services with broader community outreach and fundraising strategies. Prior to this role, she spent six years at Coastal Horizons Center, delivering bilingual therapy and pioneering culturally tailored interventions for newcomer youth and Latinx families.
She holds a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Community Management and Policy Practice from UNC Chapel Hill, and a Bachelor of Social Work from UNC Wilmington. Mireya has been a speaker and advocate at the national level, including panelist roles at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. She contributes locally as a board member for MedNorth Health Center and volunteers with various grant review and community impact committees. Past involvement includes serving on the board of Cape Fear Latinos and participating in the New Hanover County Commission for Women.
