Vice President of External Affairs Rounds Out Endowment’s Leadership Team

Wilmington, NC – The Endowment is excited to welcome Wilmington local Tyler
Newman as the new Vice President of External Affairs, rounding out its top leadership
team. In this role, Newman will focus on strengthening connections with key community
partners including local non-profits, government agencies and community leaders to
drive meaningful impact.

Tyler’s knowledge and commitment to our region make him an ideal fit for this role,”
said President and CEO, Dan Winslow. “His proven ability to bring people together, build
lasting partnerships, and advocate for long-term solutions will be invaluable as we
continue to strengthen our team and impact in New Hanover County.

Newman will bring a wealth of experience to his new role as Vice President of External
Affairs. Tyler most recently served as the President and CEO of the Business Alliance for
a Sound Economy (BASE), where he led efforts to create economic growth, regional
collaboration, and strategic partnerships in Southeastern North Carolina. His prior roles
include Special Assistant to the City Manager for Legislative Affairs in Wilmington and
Regulatory Affairs Director for the Home Builders Association of Georgia. Tyler has been
recognized as an Influencer in the annual WilmingtonBiz 100 for the past three years
and is also a Duke North Carolina Leadership Forum Fellow.

I’m excited to step into this role and collaborate with the incredible organizations and
leaders who are driving positive change in our community,” said Newman. “The
Endowment has a strong foundation of service, and I look forward to finding new ways
to support and expand its reach in New Hanover County.

Newman rounds out the leadership team at The Endowment, joining recently promoted
Emily Page as Vice President of Research and Impact and Sophie Dagenais as Vice
President of Programs and Grants. With the leadership team now in place, The
Endowment will continue to build junior staff positions as needed, in line with its
philosophy of lean staffing.
