2022 Grant Recipient ($250,000): Coastal Horizons promotes choices for healthier lives, stronger families, and safer communities. This grant will support renovations at the youth shelter and construction for MAT facility.
2024 Grant Recipient ($200,000): To help meet a required match and operating expenses for a $266,202 HUD grant to expand Horizons Housing, a HUD-funded permanent supportive housing (PSH) program, from 3 to 26 units throughout New Hanover County. Without these matching funds, Coastal Horizons would have forfeited the HUD grant.
2024 Grant Recipient ($600,000): To support Open House Youth Services in combatting youth homelessness in New Hanover County with essential programs, including emergency and transitional housing.
2025 Grant Recipient ($1,475,000): Purchase and upfitting of Open House Youth Shelter to provide secure and homelike services to children in crisis.
2026 Grant Recipient ($4,039,073): To build and strengthen NHC’s trauma-informed behavioral health continuum by supporting implementation of a Tier IV Behavioral Health Urgent Care, providing matching funds for one of the county’s few permanent supportive housing programs to leverage HUD funding, sustaining the only rape crisis program, and supporting the integration of the Trauma Institute into its operations.
