Rebekah Garcia has spent the past ten years providing civil legal services in the Wilmington area. She currently serves as Regional Managing Attorney for Legal Aid of North Carolina’s Wilmington office, where she leads efforts to ensure low-income individuals and families have access to free civil legal services across southeastern North Carolina.

Throughout her decade with Legal Aid, Rebekah has witnessed firsthand the interconnected challenges residents face in accessing safe housing, secure income, transportation, and food. Her frontline experiences have given her a profound understanding of how poverty and systemic inequities impact daily lives, and how coordinated resources can successfully prevent personal crises and improve broader community outcomes.

As an organization leader, Rebekah possesses a practical understanding of how funding decisions directly affect non-profit capacity and long-term sustainability. She works closely with local courts, service providers, and regional non-profit partners to address immediate legal crises while building conditions for long-term family stability.
