Carson Porter has dedicated his career to creating opportunities for young people to grow as athletes, leaders, and engaged members of the community.
As President and Executive Director of Wilmington Hammerheads Youth Soccer, he leads one of the region’s largest youth sports organizations, serving more than 1,500 players and managing a $4 million annual budget.
Before taking the helm at Wilmington Hammerheads, Carson excelled as a collegiate player and and coach, winning an ACC title as a player at the University of North Carolina and a National Championship as a coach at Wake Forest University.
His local leadership capacity expanded significantly during his work developing the $25 million City of Wilmington nCino Sports Park, a milestone project that gave him a practical education on the inner workings of municipal execution and local leadership. A graduate of the Leadership Wilmington program, he has further strengthened his regional perspective.
